liquid are entrained within the gas. During the course of the gas's

the droplets to move away from the gas flow, until they reach the
demister pad.
The demister pad then acts as a layer to remove the entrained
liquid droplets, allowing the gas to pass through the pad
relatively free from large droplets. The liquid droplets are
captured on the surface of the demister pad where they are removed
in the form of slides or drops. When the droplets reach a certain
size, they will flow back into the system.
